ME - I have been creating art off and on since 1985. I went to art school at a tater time in my life...33 years old and six children! I emphasized my studies in graphic design because you know...bills and raising a family! However, having to take those basic core classes, painting, drawing, sculpture, art history for about two weeks was all it took to know that I wanted to be an artist! But life had other ideas.
WHY? - I fell in love with oils early, figure drawing and anatomy. Figure drawing classes were my favorite. the chase of being able to nail the most complex and perfect thing on earth created by almighty God was my ultimate goal. But I have also fallen in love with pastels. Pan pastels, sticks, and pastel pencil have become my latest joy.
The subject matter I choose changes on mostly my mood, or inspiration. Religious and spiritual themes have become a favorite. Military and historical subjects have also caught my attention. My admiration for the men and women of our armed forces and their daily sacrifices that allow us the freedom to live our lives the way we decide we want to live, and for that generation that fought two major military powers (at the same time) and did nothing short of save the world.
I have an associate Degree from Ricks College (BYU Idaho) and have continued to learn and study with some respect professionals whenever possible.
